Jann Dulany

Evelyn Jann Dulany, 67 died Wednesday evening at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. Jann was born on August 23, 1951 in Fulton, MS to the late Vecil Cleeton Dulany and the late Ripple Underwood Dulany. She was a member of Pine Grove Church ofChrist. After graduating in 1969 from South Panola High School Batesville, MS, she attended NWJC in Senatobia, MS and was graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, TN in 1971 with a degree in Secretarial Science. Jann worked for some years as a secretary and administrative assistant until such time as she continued her education at the University of Mississippi graduating from the School of Education with a Bachelor's Degree. Jann taught for nearly two years at West Panola Academy inBatesville, where she was much loved by her students, until her recurring illness took her out of the classroom. Jann spent her remaining years living in Fulton with her parents until their deaths and in these last years at Dogwood Plantation Assisted Living. Jann loved her family and friends and rarely met a stranger. She loved the art of drawing, which she engaged in almost daily and her love for singing and music was not diminished at her passing. She had an exceptional high soprano voice and sang in many musical productions through the years at Panola Playhouse, University of Mississippi and for many festivals, weddings and funerals. The one thing she loved to sing about the most was Jesus her Savior. She preferred the old hymns and knew the words to every one, as she demonstrated Sunday last in the hospital at a hymn sing in which she sang more than seventeen hymns and never missed a verse. As a young adult Jann was diagnosed with severe Manic Depressionand Paranoid Schizophrenia. Sadly she would struggle with the effects of this illness for the rest of her life. She is now made whole and in the presence of God our Father. We can only imagine how her voice now resonates throughout heaven and the reunion she enjoys with her parents, family members and friends. We will miss her, but we will see her again Praise God! Jann is survived by her faithful and committed caregiver and brother Arlie Dulany of Batesville, MS; one sister Jo Dulany Hadorn (David) of Fulton, MS; brother Charlie C. Dulany of Batesville, MS two nephews, two great nieces, one great nephew, a great great niece, two uncles, an aunt and a plethora of cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, the ninth of February in the chapel of Senter Funeral Home, Fulton, MS. Visitation will commence at 11 o'clock until service time at 1 o'clock. Minister John Pigg of Ridgeland, MS and Mark Neaves of Fulton, MS officiating. Burial will be private at Pine Grove Church of Christ Cemetery in rural Itawamba County
