Sylvan "Deacon" Jones

Sylvan "Deacon" Jones, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at The Meadows in Fulton. He was born September 3, 1930 to the late Arlander Jones and the late Georgia Mae Steele Jones in Fairview. He retired from Tombigbee Distributors after many years of service. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church. Deacon enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible everyday, watching boxing and spending time with family and friends. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Services will be at 4:00 pm on Friday February 15, 2019 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Casie Crum and Bro. Derek Jones officiating. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday February 14, 2019 at Senter Funeral Home. Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. He is survived by his children Stevie (Brenda) Jones of Fairview, Elizabeth Lefford of Mantachie, Dwight (Susan) Jones of Fulton, Perry (Vicki) Jones of Mantachie, Sandy (Kenny) Young of Fulton, Scottie (Paula) Jones of Marietta, 36 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, Siblings, Lucille Wallace of Fulton, Janie Benefield of Tupelo, Alford (Rachel) Jones of Fairview, Bernice Wilson of Tremont, Larry (Geraldine) Jones of Fulton, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Ruth Jones, his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 great grandchild.
