Kenneth L. Shields, 84, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born May 5, 1933 to the late Shelby M. Shields and the late Nona Sullins Shields in the Ratliff Community. He was a member of Gum church of Christ. He spent his childhood in Arkansas, up until he joined the Navy during the Korean War where he served aboard the USS Yorktown as a rescue swimmer on a helicopter crew. After his Military service, he resided in Illinois where he raised his family and worked for General Motors for 33 years before retiring to the Fulton area. Kenneth loved his church, fishing, his dog, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Services, with Military Honors will be at 11:00 am on Monday December 18, 2017 at Senter Funeral Home with Minister Brady Ramey, and Bro.Bobby Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the Gum Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday December 17 at Senter Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Shields of Fulton, 3 Sons, Ricky (Sandi) Shields of Marseilles, IL, David (Connie Wheeler) Shields of Fulton, and Mike (Pam) West of Fulton, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, Sister, Audrey Robinson of Fulton, several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Tosh.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Shelby M. Shields, Mother, Nona Shields, Sister, Laura Shields Bailey, Brother, Dale Shields, and Brother in law, Lewis Robinson.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Nick Shields, Cole Shields, Tim West, Corey West, Dwayne Shields, and Dylan Shields.
